It’s a travel day, and I had plans to play some early morning golf before a midday flight. But Louisville weather said “nope, it’s gonna rain all morning”, so my last chance to get out is gone. I don’t love traveling midday or after – probability of flight delays rises quickly – but my traveling partner does. So a little early morning golf was my reward for the compromise. Go figure.

I would comment on the news, but there’s nothing new to say. We’re all being held hostage by a lunatic sociopath in the White House, who is stealing us blind, blowing up our economy and reputation, and tearing down democracy. It’s an ongoing nightmare with no way out. Sure, the midterm elections are in about 80 days, but I’m beyond hoping for miracles. And even if power shifts in Congress, Convict Donny will still be in a position to ignore the law and ruin the country. Nightmare.

Gotta focus on the positive. 80ish days to the midterm elections, and that *will* change some things. About the same amount of time until UK basketball season starts. The basement project in KY and the grove irrigation project in CA are both done, so no more big expensive projects for the year. My health is good, mind is strong, and I’m back to my first year of college weight (I probably just jinxed the shit out of that; queue a trip to the MD office soon.) Close and extended family all doing pretty well, though we’re all creeping up on our expiration dates. I’m back ahead of The NY Times average Wordle score and closing in on beating the bot’s average, again (I’m really reaching here). Southwest says our planes are on time today. Autumn is on the way and the heat in Socal and KY will have to break at some point (having said that, it’ll be high 90s for the next week+ in Socal – ugh). Rush is still touring, filling arenas. Starship flight 14 is gonna launch this month.
