Security cams are deployed, neighbors notified and house-sitter is in place. Ready to roll. Twenty-nine straight hours of travel (!) starts later today. Next trip across an ocean I think I’ll break it up somehow. On this trip we could have stayed in Zurich a night or two – at this moment that sounds like a good idea. But I’ve always been a very goal-driven person. Point me at a goal or destination and get out of the way. And that’s the way I schedule most of our travel – find and take the most efficient path to get wherever you’re going. Turns out that’s not always a great approach to travel – it’s supposed to be relaxing, right? I’ve gotta remember that next time.

Reading the accounts of Don Snoreleone watching prospective jurors as they are questioned, it seems there has to be a better way. The man’s very presence has to be offputting, maybe intimidating. Why should jurors have to deal with a malignant, evil presence as they answer questions about their objectivity? I think this whole jury-selection process should have been closed – the press’s descriptions of each juror isn’t helping things. As of today they’ve seated five jurors from a pool of 200 or so.

That aside, I give the odds of this trial being a mistrial (hung jury) at 75%. It will be so easy for a closet MAGAt to ignore the evidence and throw the trial. The best we’re going to get out of all this is keeping the R candidate off the campaign trail for a few weeks. He can do a lot less damage while being controlled by a judge in a courtroom.
