April 1st, no Fools here

Not much writing this week, my daily schedule is destroyed. In a good way. Have a brief break today, as the kids took off for Disneyland and I decided to sit that one out. Never been a Disneyland fan and the boys will enjoy it just fine without me.

We watched the Iowa-LSU women’s basket ball game last night, and it was excellent. Caitlin Clark lived up to expectations and then some. Wonder if she and her coach would like a job in the men’s basketball program at UK?

We also got to see a SpaceX rocket race across the Socal sky last night. It launched from Vandenburg and cruised right across our field of view for several minutes. The boys were awestruck – their first spaceship! Contrails at dusk in the picture above.

Earlier in the day we saw the Carlsbad Flower Fields, a unique agricultural spot just down the road. Here they grow rannunculus at scale and let folks like us wander around in their giant garden and gawk at the colors.

Finally, I found this story about a wretched customer trying to cancel an AT&T line so sad, and so true. Corporations impose a special kind of hell on customers just trying to exercise their right to stop buying a “service”. AT&T should be ashamed.
