Better luck

It’s a mostly quiet morning here in the western edge of the eastern time zone. Light rain, with more expected. I’m all for that.

It’s “mostly” quiet because the Louisville Water Company is once again tearing up our street – they really seem to have a thing for N Galt. Big machines and diesel trucks running nonstop, and parking on the street is problematic. I’m surprised the truck operators keep them running nonstop, just parked there doing nothing. I guess the cost of diesel doesn’t matter much to utility workers.

We won’t have to listen to the construction noise too long. We’re taking the rainy day opportunity to drive to and from Mt Sterling to see our old friend there. Weather the rest of the week should be more suitable to getting outside and doing things. The St James Fair, a bike ride through the parklands, a brunch and air show at Bowman Field, maybe some golf…we have a nice plan for the week.

We’ve definitely dodged a couple of weather bullets lately. Last week we planned to be in Maine, looking at fall colors. We cancelled that trip for health reasons, and it turned out that a nor’easter gave Maine hard rain all week. That wouldn’t have been fun. Now we’re in KY where the weather looks great, and Socal is going have 100 degree temps for about 10 straight days. My run of bad weather luck seems to have ended.
