Last night’s outing to see The Rush Tribute Project was great. The band covered all the big Rush tunes perfectly – Red Barchetta was a highlight for me. Our seats were right up front, the sound system was excellent, the venue (The Magnolia theater in El Cajon) was real nice.

I was real impressed by the band’s individual musical chops – they were each very good. And tight – they played some of the more complex Rush riffs without a hitch. The Geddy Lee role was a perfect fit for RTP’s lead singer – his voice was a perfect match for Geddy’s screech, and his bass playing was right on. Call me impressed.
It was a late night – I came dragging in at midnight – but well worth it. Time for a nap today.
