Amazing views, on Earth and in orbit

Watched Come Sunday last night – great cast, not much action but lots of food for thought. Emotional watch for me. I hope more people come around to the idea that you’re not condemned to an afterlife of hell by default. Religions don’t need to be a threat.

Woke up this morning to a live broadcast of Starship’s third test launch. It just concluded, and Starship made it to low Earth orbit. Big day for the next chapter of space flight. SpaceX was able to broadcast some stunning high-def pictures of the Ship in orbit using a linkup with their StarLink satellites. Pretty amazing views. On this schedule I should be around long enough to see Starship carry payloads and people to the Moon. Fingers crossed.

Today we head out to the desert in hope of seeing a superbloom. With all the rain this year, it’s possible. We know there are some good blooms happening in the Borrego desert, so off we go. Here’s a shot or two from the 2017 superbloom. The desert floor goes from monocolor sand to this in a week or two.

This is drone footage from yesterday. Looks pretty good.

And an update. I forgot – it’s Pi Day!
