Seven weeks to the day, my journey through kidney stones and complications is over. No more antibiotics, no more foreign medical devices resident in awkward places. My 7am stone(s) and stent removal procedure this morning went well. Perfect. Hallelujah!
I will say that the extensive pre-op workup this time was a little un-nerving. The first time I was so sick it barely registered. This time eyes were wide open to all the surgical prep and procedures, all the rapid information, and damn! As the saying goes, the only minor medical procedure is someone else’s.
And weirdly on the same day, if not the same hour, Apple texted me to say that my Mac is now repaired and being shipped. Synchronicity.
Once again I am impressed with Kaiser’s hospital care system. Everyone was/is pleasant, and everyone was 100% precise and focused. That’s exactly the attitude I want from anyone messing around with my internal workings. A huge shout-out and thank you to Kaiser Permanente docs, nurses, and staff. Though I hope I never see them again.
In other news today, Trump continued his campaign to be named The Worst Person in the World, emeritus. Today’s strong entry was fat-shaming Chris Christie. That’s after mocking the US Woman’s soccer team a day or so ago about being losers. And the day before that demanding that his upcoming trial be moved from DC to a more diverse state – West Virginia. WV isn’t the first place I think of when I hear “diversity”, but what do I know? You have to hand it to the guy, he’s 100% horrific, 100% of the time. Rock solid.
